Kauai Bus, "Paratransit" to Podiatrist, "1st appt" at Wilcox: Kauai Medical Clinic, to see a foot doctor for 24/7--2years pain keeping me in a wheelchair. It is just 4 miles away! I used to ride my bike to something that close but, was diagnosed with neuropathy (Nur-op-o-thee). Nerve endings dying. Starts in toes, works its way up.(Also in hands.) No cure. Prescribed a topical for the pain called gabapenptin. Northshore Pharmacy will make it for me... has 4 other ingredients. Located by Kilauea light house -- past Kapaa Town--not close to me--45 minutes away, so they will mail it to me for $7. So kind. Hope it works!
I don't sit up for very long, not in wheelchair for very long... after 10 surgery holes in my belly-- lots of scare tissue -- painful to be out of my remote bed. I don't drive either. "Assisted Living housing is my only dream! It's a bummer when you can't get around on your own anymore.
Most women have tragic stories post hysterectomy. Science needs to catch up on how to heal without such invasive surgeries. In my case, the DaVinci machine destroyed my life. Went from athlete to bed ridden. I had a surgery gone wrong, bottom line. Once the immune system is compromised, everything attacks. Went from perfect health to a life of not walking.
Mahalo to paratransit, my legs to all my doctor appts and physical therapy.
